Searching the internet I finally found a solution, I think on yahoo answers, to remove the battery and unplug the charger, then push on the power button for 20 seconds.

Worked for me.

Here’s the code for the Hoppity puzzle in C. It’s really simple and only serves as a way to validate the process of submitting for harder puzzles. Text for Makefile is above the contents of the hoppity.c file. Note: This isn’t an attempt at efficiency (or even good programming style/methods), but rather a sample in case anyone was interested in starting the puzzles.

I created a new directory and copied some backgrounds I got from www.socwall.com. I created my own backgrounds.xml file and set it up almost exactly like the one found in cosmos. I selected the new xml file in the backgrounds tab and it took me a little while to realise it wasn’t working. Every time I saved the xml file it would transition, but not automatically after the duration I entered in the file. I selected the cosmos xml file and that wouldn’t work either.

I googled some and found that there is a bug for this and a patch at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=601753

I downloaded the gnome-desktop source, applied the patch and rebuilt libgnome-desktop. This is what I think I did (went back in history to look at commands, I might not have included everything).

This morning we checked out early and headed to the park for the Trolley works ride. We got on the first ride of the morning at 10:00 am, and the trolley was only about half full. While waiting for the actors, the ticket guy told some history of the stadium and arena at Hershey Park. I didn’t realize that Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game was right there. He also had a good joke that when the Eagles had training camp at the football stadium, that was the designated tornado area because there had never been a touchdown. The conductor was dressed in a furry coat, and there was another actor riding the bus who was dressed as a Dutch German chocolate factory worker at first. They had the kids singing Jingle Bells as he sang it in his Dutch German accent. Once we got to the Hershey Estate he “got off the bus”, after a Christmas story about Milton Hershey, we picked up Hershey’s “mother” who was the actor dressed as an old lady. We then drove to Hershey’s birthplace, dropping off his mother on the way, and on the ride back Santa Claus got on the bus and had the “Good list” with all of the kids names and he gave them each a Christmas tree ornament. Santa got off the bus and a couple blocks later the chocolate factory worker got on the bus for his lunch break and gave all of the kids chocolate kisses.

After Trolley Works we went to Zoo America, which was well worth the money. There were only about 5 other families in the entire place, and we saw the Florida exhibit, the Southwest exhibit, gray wolves, whitetail dear, different hawks, a bald eagle, black bears, bobcats, a lynx, a huge elk, and bison. The alligators and crocodile were right next to the glass in the exhibits, and the whitetail deer came up to the fence about 4 feet away.

The last place we went was to Candy Lane. After some dubious parking where we drove about 3 miles to park on the other side of a fence 10 feet away for $7 instead of $20, we entered a portion of the park. The weather was below 40 degrees, but thankfully we were dressed warm. I saw at 3 people wearing shorts, and a couple of young kids without jackets. I was wearing jeans, gloves, a hoodie and a jacket. We went on a few rides including the carousel, got some kettle corn popcorn, and saw Santa’s reindeer.

In the end it was well worth the visit for a day and a half. We could’ve done a little more, but we were satisfied with the activities we got to do. The Hershey Lodge wasn’t worth the difference in pay compared to other places for the room service and the size of the room. Everything we did was about a 10 minute ride down the road, and there were plenty of other places closer to the park that were charging less than $80 for the night. In the summer we have been visiting Dutch Wonderland, and I think know we will be adding Hershey Park at Christmas time.

If you don’t run that and do a kill PID then your internet connection will get messed up and you’ll have to:

# ifconfig up
